Read the current notice basis before calculating
The ILO guidance for workers changing employers in Qatar describes one month of notice for two years or less of service and two months for more than two years in the ordinary post-probation route. Unserved-notice compensation is based on basic wage.
Before using the calculator: confirm your required calendar days, days already served, basic monthly wage and who owes compensation. The form uses those confirmed inputs; it does not decide your legal notice period or convert calendar months into fixed day counts. Probation, agreed waivers and disputes require their own assessment.
The final-settlement planner lets you enter independently confirmed unserved days and basic wage. Its positive notice line is only for compensation payable to you; it is not a net calculation of money you may owe the employer.
Qatar Notice Pay Calculator: Confirmed Days and Basic Wage
Estimate compensation for independently confirmed unserved notice days using basic wage. Select who owes the compensation; this is not an automatic notice-date or employment-status decision.

Scope of this calculator
Scope in
- Basic monthly wage and required calendar days confirmed from the applicable official notice record.
- Days actually served and the direction of compensation.
Scope out
- Automatic conversion of one or two calendar months into fixed day counts.
- Probation, disputes, agreed waivers, government employment or exceptional routes.
- Net final settlement or a legal decision about liability.
Worked example
Illustrative basic wage QAR 6,000, 30 independently confirmed required days and 10 served days: 20 remaining days x 6,000 / 30 = QAR 4,000. The selected payer determines who pays whom.
How this calculator works
Remaining days = confirmed required days minus served days. Compensation estimate = basic monthly wage / 30 x remaining days. Direction follows the selected payer.

Common questions
Short answers for using this tool responsibly.
What is the ordinary notice period?
ILO guidance describes one month with two years or less of service and two months with more than two years after probation. Confirm the actual calendar end date and any exception; this calculator does not derive dates.
Which wage should I enter?
Enter basic monthly wage for this compensation estimate, separately from allowances and gross remuneration.
Who receives the result?
Select the responsible payer. The amount may be owed by the employer to the worker or by the worker to the employer; it is not automatically an employee benefit.
Can I enter 30 or 60 without checking dates?
Use the calendar-day count confirmed for your notice record. A calendar month is not always 30 days. The wage calculation uses basic monthly wage divided by 30 as a disclosed planning convention.
Separate your notice timeline from the amount to settle
Before entering dates, write down the date notice was given, the intended final working day and the days actually served. Keep the notice letter and any written agreement about the remaining period together. Do not treat a planned departure date as proof that employment or residence procedures are complete.
A practical comparison with HR
- Check that you and HR are using the same employment dates and wage input.
- Confirm which days the employer considers served or outstanding.
- Ask for the notice component separately from gratuity, leave and deductions.
- If the parties disagree about the notice period or payment responsibility, resolve that question before treating a calculator result as an amount owed.
For example, a ten-day difference between two proposed dates is a timeline fact. Whether those days must be worked, paid or treated differently depends on the applicable rule and agreement; the date difference alone does not settle the question.
Use the Qatar final-settlement planner to organise separate components, and the leaving Qatar checklist for utilities and departure preparation. Read the scope and source above before entering a notice-pay estimate.
