Feroz Sheikh operates Gulf Expat Tools from Qatar. The site is a free planning hub for expatriates in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain.
Experience this site is built on
The calculators are written against named GCC labour, visa and housing sources — for example Qatar Law No. 14 of 2004 (Al Meezan), UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 (UAE legislation portal), and the Saudi Labour Law articles cited on the Saudi end-of-service tool. The work is product and editorial: scoping a formula, citing the statute, and flagging what the tool cannot decide.
This is not a law-firm biography and not a claim of licence to practise law in any GCC state.
What the editorial work covers
The site separates three kinds of output: arithmetic based on a stated rule, budgets based on figures supplied by the reader, and preparation checklists that cannot decide an official outcome. A result is useful only when its inputs, source and scope match the reader’s case. The source card and review date on each tool show where to check that boundary.
For example, the QID renewal guide links to MOI for actual application tracking and keeps its local checklist separate. The KAHRAMAA bill planner shows how an electricity amount and matching consumption produce an average rate; it does not present that average as a tariff for every account.
How to report a correction
Send the page URL, the input or sentence that appears wrong, and a link to the relevant official source. Describe the expected result where possible. Please leave out QID or passport numbers, passwords, payment information and private documents. Clear examples make it easier to reproduce a calculation issue and review the affected guidance.
