Editorial guidelines

Gulf Expat Tools publishes planning estimators for GCC employment, visa and everyday money questions. These pages are educational. They are not legal, immigration, tax or financial advice, and they are not a filing portal.

What a page must show

  • A named official source with a public URL (legislation portal, ministry or regulator).
  • Scope in and scope out, so a reader can see who the formula does not cover.
  • A visible review date. We update that date when the cited rule or the tool wording changes — we do not stamp a fake year for freshness.
  • Estimate-only language. Outputs are planning figures, not guaranteed payouts or approvals.

How calculators are written

Each country keeps its own statutory floor. We do not copy the UAE 21-then-30-day gratuity pattern onto Qatar, and we do not apply one resignation-bracket table to every GCC law. Saudi Article 85 and Kuwait indefinite-term resignation tiers stay on those tools only. Where a simple formula is unsafe, the tool returns a manual-review message instead of a made-up number.

Who writes and reviews

Pages are written and reviewed by Shekh Firoj, operator of Gulf Expat Tools, based in Qatar. There is no anonymous byline and no invented law-firm reviewer. Corrections: use Contact Us with the official source URL and effective date, or email alamfiroj01@gmail.com.

What we will not publish

  • City or “2 years / 5 years / 10 years” doorway pages.
  • Scraped competitor articles or cloned official ministry calculators.
  • Live RERA index values presented as if we operated Dubai Land Department.
