UAE Family Residence Renewal & Document Readiness Checker

Prepare for a UAE family-residence renewal with an authority-route, document and timing checklist rather than a universal fee or approval claim.

Calculate your estimate

Preparation checker only; ICP/GDRFA, the issuing route and your records determine renewal, costs, duration and approval

On supported formula tools, a complete set of valid inputs refreshes the estimate automatically. You can always use Calculate estimate to review it again.

Saved estimates stay only in this browser on this device. Nothing is sent to Gulf Expat Tools. Save up to five named estimates per tool.

Important: This free tool provides an estimate for the scope shown above. It is not legal, immigration or financial advice, and the competent authority or employer record controls the final amount.

How this calculator works

The checker combines your authority route, family category, expiry timeline and document-preparation inputs into a renewal checklist. It does not calculate medical, Emirates ID, insurance, service-centre or authority fees.

Common questions

Short answers for using this tool responsibly.

Is this result guaranteed?

No. The output is an estimate for the scope shown on this page. The official authority, employer records and your contract determine the final entitlement or charge.

Which inputs should I enter?

Follow each field label exactly. Some tools use official fees or published tariffs, while rent, deposits, wages, brokerage or moving costs may be user-entered planning assumptions. Do not substitute a different measure without checking the tool explanation.

When should I request manual review?

Choose manual review where the tool shows an unsupported work type, scheme, historic service period, special termination case, immigration exception or inconsistent records.

Where can I check the official rule?

Use the official source card above. This site links to the relevant government, legislation or competent-authority reference for each tool.

Prepare the renewal file before you start

Use this checklist as a document-readiness step before the residence-renewal application. The federal route is normally handled through ICP, while Dubai applications can follow the GDRFA Dubai route. The issuing authority, sponsor record and dependant category determine the final requirements.

Records to confirm first

  • Check each dependant’s passport validity, current residence status and personal photo before starting.
  • Confirm the sponsor’s residence record and the emirate that issued the residence file.
  • Keep relationship evidence ready, such as an attested marriage certificate or birth certificate where the authority requests it.
  • Check whether medical fitness, Emirates ID and health-insurance steps apply to the dependant’s route before you pay any fee.

What happens in the official process

ICP describes a sequence of submitting the application, reviewing available data, attaching documents when an integrated record is unavailable, paying applicable fees, completing required procedures and receiving the residence-issuance notification. That sequence is useful for planning, but it is not a promise that every document or fee applies to every family member.

Authority check: Use the current ICP renewal service or the applicable GDRFA Dubai service before submitting. The UAE Government’s family-residence guidance is also linked from the source card above.

Before you rely on this checklist

Do not treat this page as an approval check. Immigration records, sponsor status, insurance, medical results, document attestation and emirate-specific process rules can change the required steps. Use the official service to confirm the live file requirements for every dependant.
