Scope of this calculator
Scope in
- Days counted between the permit or visa expiry date and the calculation date you enter.
- A grace period that you enter yourself for your own permit category.
- A flat daily overstay charge used for planning only.
Scope out
- Service charges, exit-permit fees and centre-of-service charges.
- Amnesty, waiver and fine-reduction decisions.
- Entry bans, absconding cases and files under review.
- The final account balance, which only ICP or GDRFA can state.
Worked example
Permit expiry 1 March 2026, calculation date 20 March 2026, grace period 10 days. This tool follows the convention used in its own script: it counts the days from expiry to the calculation date, subtracts the grace days you entered, and multiplies the remaining chargeable days by AED 50 per day. That gives 19 days minus 10 grace days = 9 chargeable days x 50 = about AED 450 as an estimate.
Mini-example: if the calculation date still falls inside the grace period, chargeable days are zero and the estimate is AED 0.
How this calculator works
The calculator uses AED 50 per chargeable day after the grace period entered. Visa category and the competent authority determine the applicable grace period and final balance.

Common questions
Short answers for using this tool responsibly.
Is the grace period the same for every UAE permit?
No, the grace window differs by permit category and by the decision applied to your file, which is why this tool asks you to enter the grace days that apply to you instead of assuming one; confirm against your permit record and the cited source.
Why does the amount shown by ICP differ from this estimate?
The official balance can include service charges, exit-permit amounts and case-specific decisions that this page does not model, so treat the figure here as a planning estimate only; confirm against your permit record and the cited source.
Does the fine keep growing while I stay?
Overstay charges accumulate per chargeable day, so moving the calculation date later increases the estimate, which is why the date you enter matters as much as the expiry date; confirm against your permit record and the cited source.
Can overstay charges be waived or reduced?
Waiver, amnesty and reduction outcomes are separate authority decisions that are not modelled here, so this estimate assumes no waiver applies to your file; confirm against your permit record and the cited source.
Does an overstay also affect future visas or trigger a ban?
Consequences beyond the amount, including bans and file status, are decided by the competent authority and sit outside this calculation; confirm against your permit record and the cited source.
Do I settle the amount before or after cancelling the residence?
The settlement order depends on the cancellation or exit route being used and on the channel handling your file, so it must be checked with the authority rather than assumed from this estimate; confirm against your permit record and the cited source.
