UAE Job Exit, Visa Cancellation & Grace-Period Planner

Plan a UAE employment exit, dependant sequence and residence-grace timeline without making a legal determination or submitting a cancellation.

Calculate your estimate

Date and process planner only; work-permit, free-zone, dispute and residence decisions remain with MOHRE/ICP/GDRFA and the competent authority

On supported formula tools, a complete set of valid inputs refreshes the estimate automatically. You can always use Calculate estimate to review it again.

Saved estimates stay only in this browser on this device. Nothing is sent to Gulf Expat Tools. Save up to five named estimates per tool.

Important: This free tool provides an estimate for the scope shown above. It is not legal, immigration or financial advice, and the competent authority or employer record controls the final amount.

How this calculator works

The planner counts your selected timeline against the stated residence-category grace period and flags dependant, employee-dues, and status-change issues that require official review. It does not calculate a final settlement or decide your legal status.

Common questions

Short answers for using this tool responsibly.

Is this result guaranteed?

No. The output is an estimate for the scope shown on this page. The official authority, employer records and your contract determine the final entitlement or charge.

Which inputs should I enter?

Follow each field label exactly. Some tools use official fees or published tariffs, while rent, deposits, wages, brokerage or moving costs may be user-entered planning assumptions. Do not substitute a different measure without checking the tool explanation.

When should I request manual review?

Choose manual review where the tool shows an unsupported work type, scheme, historic service period, special termination case, immigration exception or inconsistent records.

Where can I check the official rule?

Use the official source card above. This site links to the relevant government, legislation or competent-authority reference for each tool.

Separate cancellation steps from post-cancellation timing

Use this page to organise a UAE job-exit or residence-cancellation file. A sponsor normally handles the residence cancellation, and employer-sponsored cases can require employment-record steps before the residence request is submitted.

Prepare the cancellation route

  • Confirm the sponsor, employer or family file that controls the residence record.
  • Check whether the employment contract/work-permit closure needs to be completed first for an employer-sponsored case.
  • Keep the passport and any supporting photograph or category-specific document requested through ICP or GDRFA available.
  • Where family members depend on the cancelled sponsor file, confirm the correct dependant sequence with the competent authority before cancelling records.

Do not hard-code a grace period

UAE grace periods are category-dependent and can change with the residence type and official record. This checklist deliberately does not promise one universal number of days. Calculate plans from the live cancellation or expiry record and confirm the authority route before booking onward travel.

Authority check: Review the UAE Government’s residence-visa guidance, the current ICP cancellation service, or the applicable GDRFA Dubai service.

Use the tool as a planning aid

The planner does not determine immigration status, overstay liability, employer obligations or approval. Current official records and the competent authority control the final sequence and available time.
