Oman Notice-Pay Planner

Work out the unpaid remainder of a notice period in Oman using your own contractual notice days and basic wage. This planner uses your contract notice, not a claimed Oman statutory table.

Calculate your estimate

Contract-based planner only; it applies the notice days you enter and does not assert an Oman statutory notice table or article text

On supported formula tools, a complete set of valid inputs refreshes the estimate automatically. You can always use Calculate estimate to review it again.

Saved estimates stay only in this browser on this device. Nothing is sent to Gulf Expat Tools. Save up to five named estimates per tool.

Important: This free tool provides an estimate for the scope shown above. It is not legal, immigration or financial advice, and the competent authority or employer record controls the final amount.

Scope of this calculator

Scope in

  • Remaining notice pay from your own contractual notice days, days served and basic monthly wage.
  • A transparent day-by-day breakdown you can take to HR.
  • A link to the Oman gratuity calculator for the separate end-of-service question.

Scope out

  • Any claimed Oman statutory notice-day table or article number — this planner deliberately does not state one.
  • Gratuity, leave encashment, allowances and any other settlement component.
  • Dismissal, resignation-cause and dispute outcomes, which the Ministry of Labour and the courts decide.
  • Whether your contractual notice clause is itself enforceable.

Worked example

Basic wage OMR 600, contractual notice 30 days, 10 days served: remaining notice is 20 days and the planner shows 600 ÷ 30 × 20 = OMR 400, labelled as your contract notice rather than a statutory claim.

Mini-example: entering more days served than contractual notice returns a zero remainder, not a negative amount.

What to say next

  • Read the notice clause in your signed Oman contract and use exactly that number of days.
  • Check the Oman Ministry of Labour Labour Law page linked above for the governing framework.
  • Use the Oman Gratuity Calculator for the separate end-of-service entitlement.
  • Agree the served-notice date with HR in writing before the final settlement is issued.

How this calculator works

Remaining notice days = contractual notice days − notice days served, floored at zero. Remaining notice pay = basic monthly wage ÷ 30 × remaining notice days. The contractual notice figure comes from you; this page does not assert an Oman statutory notice table.

Common questions

Short answers for using this tool responsibly.

Why does this planner not use an Oman statutory notice table?

Because we will not publish Oman notice-day rules or article numbers we cannot tie to a dated official source. The planner uses the notice days written in your own contract instead.

Which wage should I enter?

Enter the basic monthly wage your contract uses for notice pay. Allowances are excluded unless your contract explicitly includes them.

Why divide by 30?

It converts a monthly basic wage into a daily rate, which is the common way notice remainders are expressed. Your contract or employer may use a different convention.

Does this include gratuity?

No. End-of-service gratuity is separate — use the Oman Gratuity Calculator for that.

Is this a legal entitlement figure?

No. It is a planning estimate from your inputs. The Ministry of Labour, your contract and the competent authority determine the final position.
