Scope of this calculator

Scope in

  • Non-Bahraini private-sector end-of-service gratuity estimates.
  • Last wage and completed service as you enter them.

Scope out

  • Bahraini nationals under the social insurance regime.
  • Disputed dismissals and negotiated settlement packages.

Worked example

Example only: BHD 600 monthly wage with 4 completed years follows the published gratuity accrual pattern used by this tool.

How this calculator works

The calculator uses half a month’s last remuneration for each of the first three years and one month for later years, with proportional service. SIO contribution records can limit the actual benefit.

Common questions

Short answers for using this tool responsibly.

Is my allowance included in the wage?

Use the wage definition applied by your contract and the SIO guidance, not the total package by default. Confirm against the official source cited on this page before you act.

Does resignation reduce the gratuity?

Entitlement depends on service length and reason for leaving under Bahrain rules. Confirm against the official source cited on this page before you act.

Do part-years count?

This tool pro-rates the incomplete year on the days you enter. Confirm against the official source cited on this page before you act.

Does the new savings scheme change this?

Employers moved to the savings scheme may pay via that route instead. Confirm against the official source cited on this page before you act.

Is the supported route the same for Bahraini nationals and non-Bahrainis?

This tool only supports the non-Bahraini covered-worker route administered through SIO. Bahraini nationals sit under separate social-insurance arrangements, so use the official SIO source rather than this estimate.

What about service before 1 March 2024?

This tool supports the post-1 March 2024 SIO route. Service accrued before that date may be treated under the earlier arrangement with the employer, so ask for a split statement and confirm with SIO.

Why can my SIO record show less than this estimate?

The benefit actually payable follows registered contributions and the wage recorded with SIO. If registration or wage data differs from what you enter here, the SIO record controls.
