How we calculate
Every Gulf Expat Tools calculator is built for one country and one rule set, not a generic average of the region.
Country-specific formulas
GCC end-of-service, leave, visa fee and rent rules differ by country and often by worker category. We build a separate formula per country rather than reusing one regional model.
Named source and review date
Each tool page names the official source it was written against, links its public URL, and shows the date the page was last reviewed.
Scope in / out
Each page carries a scope line: which workers, visa types or cities the estimate covers, and which are excluded.
No official-outcome promise
We produce estimates. The authority, your employer records and your contract control the real outcome. Nothing here is a filing, approval or legal advice.
Exception flags
When a simple formula is unsafe (unlimited vs limited contracts, resignation vs termination, domestic workers, free-zone rules), we flag the exception instead of printing a confident number.
