UAE ILOE guide: eligibility, claim timing and benefit checks
A source-linked preparation guide for checking ILOE coverage, claim timing and the information behind a conditional benefit estimate.

Start with coverage and category
ILOE is described for employees in the UAE private sector and federal government sector. The official scheme identifies excluded categories including company owners or investors working in their own companies, domestic helpers, temporary-contract workers, people under 18 and pension-entitled retirees who take a new job. Check the policy details and your actual work status first. A public web checklist cannot decide whether an exception applies to your record.
Check the subscription record before estimating
The official FAQ states that eligibility requires at least 12 consecutive months of subscription and payment of premiums in line with the selected payment plan. If premiums are unpaid for more than three months, the policy may be cancelled and a fine may apply under the applicable law. Keep the certificate, payment statement and any renewal history available before you calculate a possible benefit.
Separate benefit arithmetic from eligibility
The scheme explains that the monthly cash benefit may be up to 60% of the average basic salary in the six months before job loss, for up to three consecutive months per claim. Category A has a AED 10,000 monthly maximum and Category B a AED 20,000 maximum. That arithmetic is only one part of a claim. Job-loss reason, policy category and insurer records still control the actual amount.
Act promptly and preserve the right records
The official FAQ says the claim should be submitted within 30 days from termination of the labour relationship or settlement of a labour complaint referred to court. It also lists non-resignation, non-disciplinary dismissal, no active abscondment complaint, legal UAE presence and other policy conditions. Use the official ILOE portal or its stated claim channels, and do not treat this guide or calculator as a claim submission or approval.
