How to Calculate End of Service Gratuity in Qatar (2026)?
Calculating your End of Service Benefit (EOSB) in Qatar is straightforward if you know the exact rules. According to the Qatar Labor Law (Law No. 14 of 2004), an expatriate worker is entitled to an end-of-service gratuity if they have completed a minimum of one year of continuous service.
The 21-Days Rule
The basic formula for gratuity calculation in Qatar is based on 21 days of your basic salary for every full year you have worked.
- Note: Gratuity is calculated based on your Basic Salary only. Allowances like housing, transport, and food are not included in this calculation.
- If you have worked for a fraction of a year (extra months and days), you will receive a pro-rata amount for that period, provided you have completed your first full year.
Eligibility for Gratuity in Qatar
You must have completed at least 1 full year of continuous service under the same employer.
The contract must be terminated normally or by resignation following the proper notice period.
